Workshops

Workshops

Workshops are delivered to members of the public and are often delivered in partnership projects.
We offer a range of bespoke workshops to meet the needs of participants.
Each has a set of aims that focus on developing practical skills to promote positive change.
The aims of workshops are met in a variety of ways. The contents of each workshop are chosen during the planning process. Care is taken to choose activities that are tailor-made for participants. This ensures that participants' learning and language needs are met. The length of each workshop is also flexible to make them as accessible as possible.

Well being workshops focus on developing self care and confidence. Often people are good at encouraging their friends but often give themselves a hard time. These workshops help people to learn skills to improve the way they think and take care of themselves. Building stress management and communication skills supports positive change. These skills aim to promote emotional resilience and well being.

Enterprise workshops focus on building skills and talents for employment and business development. Often people have skills and qualifications but are not sure how to use them to improve their financial well being. These workshops help people to explore the opportunities for enterprise and employment.

Workshops include

Building Self Compassion

Research has shown that self-compassion can help improve our emotional well-being, improve our ability to cope with life’s challenges, lower levels of anxiety and depression, promote healthy habits such as diet and exercise, and lead to more satisfying personal relationships.
  • Promote the way you think
  • Practise self-compassion skills
  • Explore the key principles and practices of self-compassion
  • Develop understanding of the science around self-compassion
  • Learn to motivate yourself with kindness rather than self-criticism
  • Plan to bring self-compassion into your daily life
  • Recognise how to grow and sustain compassion for others to improve relationships
Building self-compassion can completely change how we relate to ourselves. It is easy to meet our imperfections and challenges with self-blame and self-criticism, but this gets us nowhere and often makes things worse.  When we can bring a kind and mindful attention to our experiences (thoughts, emotions, and feelings) and a sense of love and care to ourselves, it is easier to cope through hard times. With practise, we can strengthen skills to build self-compassion and kindness to improve emotional well-being and build resilience.

Addressing Cultural Barriers to Engagement and Progression

Many women continue to be disadvantaged. This may be due to gender, race, social status, lack of employment and harmful practices.

Reinventing Success looks for ways to constructively challenging discrimination. By supporting women to make informed choices, they can be instrumental in bringing about social change that transforms lives.

Living Well and Long-Term Health Conditions

Often, when we develop a long-term health condition, chronic pain, or chronic fatigue, our capacity to manage our lives changes; we are no longer able to do things in the same way that we used to do them. As a consequence, our behaviour and the way that we think about ourselves and the world around us changes too. Sometimes this change helps us adapt to our new circumstances.

However, sometimes the changes we make are less positive, they may seem to help in the short-term, but in the long run leave us believing that we can’t cope or manage, or feeling depressed, anxious, or lonely.

Reinventing Success can help you to think about the changes you have made since you developed a long-term health condition, pain, or fatigue and identify the good changes, as well as the not so good ones and teach you ways to adapt to your life circumstances so that you are better able to cope with your health condition and the challenges life throws at you.
